As many of you will know, Instagram is by far my favourite social media platform. Annoying algorithms aside, there is such a wonderful community spirit to be found there, and it’s a place where creativity flourishes. I love filling my feed with small businesses, fellow mums and monochrome delights, as I like to feel inspired as I scroll. So this month, I thought it would be great to do a little interview series, where I get to chat to the people behind some amazing Instagram accounts that inspire me.

So without further ado, say hello to Lucy, aka. @tate.and.fable

I originally met Lucy through work, where we clicked over our addiction to kids clothes and our love for the squares of Instagram. Over time, Lucy has organically grown her Instagram community, and she is someone I massively admire!

So, Lucy, tell us a bit about yourself…

Hello 👋 my name is Lucy and I’m mummy to Tate (4), Fable (2) and Oreo the dog. I’m an older mummy (38) but have a very young heart which I think mainly is due to my profession as a secondary school PE teacher. I love home decor, children’s clothing, photography and sport. I’ve been married to my soul mate for just over 6 years and live in a little town called Warwick.

Your boys are always dressed in the coolest clothes; what are your ‘go to’ brands for kids style?

Unfortunately, I have expensive taste in children’s clothes and the brands I seem to buy the most are Beau Loves, Mini Rodini and Bobo Choses. I just adore their prints and quality and I’m a sucker for leopard print! Both boys are most comfortable in leggings and I love layering with oversized t-shirts and jumpers. With winter fast approaching I also love collecting coats and all in ones to keep them cosy.

Where do you get your inspiration from for your Instagram photos? How do you stay fresh and creative?

I’m not even sure if I am fresh or creative. I just tend to post what I like and share a lot about our little family with our lovely followers. My inspiration comes from what the boys are learning, achieving, trying hard to grasp or just family moments. I suppose my boys are my inspiration.

What is your top piece of parenting advice?

Make your own rules as every child is different. Do what’s best for your family and never lose sight of what is important in life, happiness and health.

LOVE THAT! And finally, what would your top tips be for anyone wanting to grow their Instagram like you have?

Find your tribe and love them hard. Constant support from followers is the key. Share stories and be open and honest. Don’t get stuck on likes and followers, just post what makes you happy.

Be sure to check out Lucy’s Instagram for more shots of her beautiful family- and watch this space for more Instagram interviews coming throughout October!
