Autumn is just the best season, isn’t it? Whenever it comes around, I’m reminded of the crisp leaves, cosy jumpers, pumpkin scented candles that just make life feel that little bit warmer.

This year, I decided to take my love for Autumn a step further. This is something I have seen dotted around Pinterest, and it really appealed to me. They call it ‘Stove Top Potpourri.’

Anything that fills my house with the warm scents of cinnamon, orange and cloves definitely gets my vote, so I decided to give it a go!

What you’ll need:

2 oranges

2 apples

Cinnamon sticks

Boiling water

A saucepan

This is the easiest thing ever. Peel the oranges and apples, and place the skins and the flesh, along with the cinnamon sticks and cloves into some boiling water in a saucepan and leave to simmer.

I have been amazed at how effective this is at filling your house with the warm smell of Autumn. I only let it simmer for 30 minutes or so, and the results were just incredible.

Any time you need a little Autumnal pick me up, or maybe the next time you have guests over for dinner, give this a go!

I’d love to hear from you if you decide to try this, take a snap and tag me on Instagram (@land_of_lawson) or leave me a comment below to tell me what you think!
