With Halloween nearly upon us, and Lawson becoming an increasingly fussy eater (already!?), I have been on the look out for ways to make food a bit more fun for us as a family. So, when Organix got in touch to see if we’d like to try out their Halloween inspired recipes, it was a no brainer for me! We are big fans or Organix in our house, Lawson absolutely loves their fruit pots, biscuits and breadsticks – they feel like a real treat for him with only the good stuff in them!
The recipe we tried is Spooky Pumpkin Risotto. I love this recipe because it is jam packed full of vegetables, and full of flavour. This recipe is suitable for babies from 7 months, takes about 60 minutes to make, and is absolutely delicious!
We kept our risotto fairly textured because Lawson is 12 months old, but for younger babies, to make the rice runnier just add some milk. This risotto is delicious at anytime of year, but makes a fun centre piece at a Halloween party too! We opted to fill a carved orange pepper with our risotto, but Organix have loads of different serving suggestions which you can check out here.
I had so much fun creating this recipe, and was eager to try it on our little fussy eater. This was the verdict…
It was a hit! Honestly, this is the most Lawson has eaten at dinner time in a really long time! He’s also proven that risotto can be finger food too! Even if it is very messy…
Definitely check out the Organix website for more Halloween recipes and ideas – I’ve got a fair few ideas from them!
Let me know if you make this recipe too – it’s quick and easy and super good for you too!
